While the information on
spawning and culturing sturgeons is scarce or kept secret, we have this information at the highest scientific and practical level by training with
the best sturgeon experts in the world and hands on experience during the
last years (organizing hatcheries and/or spawning of stellate, Siberian,
shortnose and Atlantic sturgeon);
Saint John River, New
Brunswick, Canada is the only place in the world where we can obtain
Atlantic sturgeon broodstock, through the existing commercial fishery; we
also have access to healthy shortnose sturgeon broodstock; there
is no problem to provide you all the CITES exportation permits as the
populations are in a very good shape;
Atlantic sturgeon has one of the biggest growth rate of all the
sturgeons; our broodstock is part of the Northern range of this species
and according with the counter-gradient hypothesis has the best growth
rate comparing with the populations from Southern areas;
Shortnose sturgeon is probably one of the best sturgeon aquaculture
species - early maturing, large eggs, good growth; although endangered
in most it's areal, our well managed captive breeding program will
promote it to its right place in world's aquaculture.
